About Charlene Hanson, PMHNP-BC

For more than two decades, I've helped patients and families find their way to more meaningful lives. This journey began in women's health and critical care nursing before leading me to psychiatry. I completed my undergraduate work in Psychology at the University of California, San Diego, then later my MSN as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at the University of California, San Francisco. I am board certified with the ANCC.

Having a child that has struggled with their mental health, including the complexity of  PANS/PANDAS, I understand how complicated and overwhelming neuroimmune disorders like these can be for patients and families. Diagnosing and treating the underlying immune processes requires specialized medical expertise beyond what I provide, though once a diagnosis is made, I can offer ongoing psychiatric care as part of the treatment team.
